Midpoint Bridge closes while police investigate deadly shooting
CAPE CORAL, Fla. – One person was killed and another was seriously injured in an early Sunday morning shooting. All access to the Midpoint Bridge was blocked just after 2 a.m. along with the intersection of Veterans Memorial Parkway at Del Prado Boulevard. Someone shot into a car, sending both victims to the hospital, according to Cape Coral police. One person died and the other is in critical condition. Major Crime Detectives and the Forensics Unit are investigating. Officers believe this was a targeted crime.
