Student driver critically injures father during driving lesson

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A 65-year-old Naples man is in critical condition after an accident while teaching his son how to drive, officials said. The man was teaching his 34-year-old son from Colombia how to drive, specifically how to park, troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said. While being guided into a parking space by his father, who was outside of the vehicle, the son stepped on the gas. The SUV launched over the parking curbs and hit the man, troopers said. WATCH: Cars driving nose to bumper on Fort Myers highway

FORT MYERS, Fla.– An interesting tow job caught the attention of drivers on Colonial Boulevard over the weekend. A video taken from a nearby car’s passenger seat shows a the front bumper of a green car connected to the back bumper of a white car, pushing it down the busy boulevard.  In the nearly two minute long video, the two cars separate as they near a stop light before connecting to push the car again at the stoplight.  While some who travel the busy road daily find the video comical, the Florida Highway Patrol doesn’t.  “It’s just a recipe for a problem,”...

Cape Coral woman accused of crashing car into home

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A Cape Coral woman is accused of crashing into a Cape Coral home Saturday morning. Cara Gritten, 29, is facing several charges including DUI with property damage.  Gritten is accused of driving off the roadway on SE 20th Court and smashing into a victim’s home.  The victim, Lauri Langone, said this is the third incident in which a car has collided into her residence. “You can’t even believe what it looks like inside.
