Officers released images of the two who reportedly committed grand theft from the store, located at 2265 Colonial Boulevard, on February 17, 2021. FORT MYERS, Fla.– The Fort Myers City Council has extended Fort Myers Police Chief Diggs’ contract. The contract was set to expire in August. Chief Diggs joined the council meeting through Zoom when he was asked if he would like to stay in Fort Myers, Monday night. “While these are challenging times my commitment to improving the public safety in the city of Fort Myers is unwavered,” said Diggs. Diggs and the City Manager still need to work out the details of his contract.

Officers with the Fort Myers Police Department are investigating the shooting at 5344 Summerlin Road. People should avoid the area as investigators work the scene. FORT MYERS, Fla. — Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car that crashed into the front of a home on New York Avenue in Fort Myers late Thursday night. Multiple LCSO cruisers were seen at the location where a white sedan flipped and hit a home and at least one other vehicle. NBC2 crews saw a damaged LCSO K9 cruiser at the scene. FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Fort Myers city council approved the new city manager’s contract, but not before addressing accusations of racism and discrimination against the man picked for the job. Members of the Lee County NAACP spoke about the claims during Wednesday’s special meeting. Community members said Marty Lawing has a history of racism and discrimination in his past jobs in North Carolina.
