Softball player “embarrassed and disrespected” after umpires ask her to cut braids off

DURHAM, N.C. / CNN — A North Carolina high school student-athlete is demanding an end to hair discrimination after she said she was forced to cut her hair during a game. On April 19, sophomore Nicole Pyles was playing a game of softball at Hillside High School. “The umps came up to my coach asking about my beads. I was just like, well, it’s fine. Gateway football laying building blocks for future success
