PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – At least one person died Tuesday in a crash at the intersection of US 41 and Tangelo Road in Punta Gorda. The crash happened around 2 p.m. between a Fedex truck and a motorcycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Southbound lanes of US 41 are closed at the intersection while troopers investigate. Investigators confirmed someone died in the crash but have not yet said how many people were involved or released any identities. This is a developing story. PUNTA GORDA, Fla.– A Punta Gorda man received an early morning surprise when he checked his doorbell security camera on Sunday. Jason Warner was at work when his phone went off, alerting him his camera picked up motion. “I looked at it and didn’t know what it was,” said Warner. The video shows a meteor streaking down from the sky before ducking out of the camera’s range. This is one of numerous videos of meteors captured on camera in Southwest Florida since at least April 12th.
