NAPLES, Fla. – Naples City Manager Charles Chapman resigned during Thursday’s council meeting. City officials said there were a lot of disagreements during the meeting. Councilman Ted Blankenship said during the meeting that he thought the city manager should resign. City Manager Chapman made the decision to resign immediately. City officials said Dana Souza was named interim city manager.

NAPLES, Fla.– Collier County deputies responded to a medical call in Golden Gate on Thursday night. Law enforcement arrived to the 2600 block of 52nd Terrace Southwest where there was a medical emergency involving a juvenile. The child was transported to NCH where they were revived. According to officials, the child was then transported to Golisano Children’s Hospital for further treatment. No other information was immediately available at this time. In September, Ashley Duval started working as a server at the Lakeside Grille located within the Vi at Bentley Village senior living community. NAPLES, Fla.– An armed robber is still on the run in Naples. The Naples Police Department said the suspect beat somebody with a club that had nails sticking out of it. The beach bandit stole the backpack off a young man on the sand near Naples Pier. The victim and his brother chased the thief. While trying to get away, the stealer swung the club, hitting the victim’s brother in the knee. NAPLES, Fla. – A two-alarm fire tore through a Naples home just after midnight Sunday. Fire crews said flames were burning the roof of the home on Cypress Woods Drive around 12:26 a.m. Heavy smoke could be seen billowing from the top of the home. North Collier Fire, Naples Fire Rescue and Greater Naples Fire were all on scene battling the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
