Armed Naples beach bandit still at large

NAPLES, Fla.– An armed robber is still on the run in Naples. 

The Naples Police Department said the suspect beat somebody with a club that had nails sticking out of it.

The beach bandit stole the backpack off a young man on the sand near Naples Pier. The victim and his brother chased the thief.

While trying to get away, the stealer swung the club, hitting the victim’s brother in the knee. The strike resulted in a half-inch puncture wound, according to Naples Police. 

“It’s kinda scary to think about,” said Danill Shapovalov of Fort Lauderdale. “I would probably never come to the beach, I don’t know.”
