Firefighters extinguish Lehigh Acres car fire

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — Rescue crews were able to put out a fire that overtook a car in Lehigh Acres on Tuesday morning. Firefighters with Lehigh Acres Fire Rescue arrived at the scene on 50th Street North and saw a car fully involved with fire quickly spreading to the surrounding grass. Quick work by Engine 102 helped prevent the fire from getting out of control. The fire melted the tires off the car, which looks to be a total loss. No injuries were reported. Car mows down palm trees in Naples

NAPLES, Fla. — A driver lost control and smashed into multiple palm trees on Radio Road Sunday night. Rescue crews with Greater Naples Fire and Collier County EMS responded to the scene near Radio Lane, but no injuries have been reported, UC Breaking News reported. Numerous trees in the median of Radio Road were seen toppled over and the eastbound lanes had to be completely shut down so crews could clear the roadway.
