Marco Island Police investigate string of car thefts

MARCO ISLAND, Fla.– The Marco Island Police are investigating multiple car thefts and burglaries.

Six vehicles were stolen with two of them recovered on Marco Island. Another vehicle that was stolen out of Pinellas County was also found on the island. Additionally, fourteen vehicles were burglarized.

According to a statement released by Marco PD, on Sunday afternoon the department realized they were not receiving alerts from the one of their cameras. Their system was fixed on Monday morning.

Investigators are combing the vehicles for evidence.

Here are the vehicles that are still missing, according to police:

  • 2019 Black Lincoln Navigator Georgia License Plate RTC833 
  • 2017 White Ford F-350 (Raised Suspension) Florida License Plate 16GUB
  • 2018 Charcoal Chevy Silverado Florida License Plate CRXP02 
  • 2007 Black Lexus Sedan Florida License Plate 229RYK 

Police said in many of the cars were unlocked and had the keys inside.
