CAPE CORAL, Fla. – One person died in a motorcycle crash on Burnt Store Road near Burnt Store Marina Sunday afternoon. According to the Florida Highway Patrol a motorcycle and a car crashed on Burnt Store Road near Islamorada Blvd leaving one person dead just before 1 p.m. The Cape Coral Police Department shutdown both directions of Burnt Store Road around the 5000 block while crews investigate. LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A fire ripped through a car and set a wooded area ablaze in Lehigh Acres Sunday afternoon. The fire started around 1 p.m. and left the car totaled, according to the car’s owner. Investigators have not yet said how the fire started. Crews said the fire has since been 100% contained and are working to clean up the area.

DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old Port Charlotte man died Saturday night after he was thrown from the back of a pickup truck and hit by a Sedan, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The 20-year-old was riding in the bed of a pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old Arcadia teen with five other passengers on the shoulder of State Road 70 near NW Pine Level Street around 11:45 p.m. A Sedan driven by a 60-year-old Arcadia man was driving the opposite direction on SR 70 when the truck turned causing the 20-year-old to fall out onto the road and right into the path of the Sedan, troopers...

Publix currently offers the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Vaccines will be administered via both walk-up and scheduled appointments as supply allows. DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. – A man died just before 1 a.m. Sunday after a DeSoto County crash that caused the pickup truck he was driving to go up in flames, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said a man driving south on NW Eucalyptus Avenue near NW Sycamore Street when he ran off the road and hit a tree. The pickup truck then caught fire and became engulfed in flames on the shoulder of Eucalyptus Avenue, investigators said. The man was pronounced dead on scene. NAPLES, Fla. – A two-alarm fire tore through a Naples home just after midnight Sunday. Fire crews said flames were burning the roof of the home on Cypress Woods Drive around 12:26 a.m. Heavy smoke could be seen billowing from the top of the home. North Collier Fire, Naples Fire Rescue and Greater Naples Fire were all on scene battling the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
