DOUGLAS, Ariz. / AP — Residents of an Arizona border city were left in awe after a surprise visit from a bear. The bear appeared on Sunday in downtown Douglas, officials with the Arizona Game & Fish Department said. Bolder than the average bear, it climbed up two utility poles and sat on some wires high above the ground. State wildlife officials, Douglas police, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Border Patrol closed off U.S. Hwy 191 while trying to get the bear to leave. The seemingly unfazed bear eventually climbed down and ran off, sending about two dozen onlookers...

The Virginia figure was flat from 11 am ET, while North Carolina was...
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A speed limit for ships in part of the Gulf of Mexico south of the Florida Panhandle is needed to protect the few remaining endangered whales there, environmental groups said Tuesday. Shipping interests did not immediately answer requests for comment on the petition, which also asks NOAA Fisheries to make all shipping detour around the...

SANIBEL, Fla.— Ricky Williamceau and his buddies went out for an evening fishing trip on Monday. One of the men in the group noticed something in the sky and told everyone to look up. What they saw looked like a string of stars, one right after the other. “Woah. Everyone was kind of like ‘oh my God’,” said Williamceau. For a moment, they all watched in disbelief wondering if they had just seen a UFO. While it looked out of this world, the bright lights were actually part of Elon Musk’s latest satellite internet project called ‘Starlink’....
CAPE CORAL, Fla.– The city of Cape Coral is bracing for a gas shortage as many people begin to panic buy gasoline. This stems from fear of a fuel shortage in some parts of the country which could increase the demand in Southwest Florida communities as well. The Colonial Gas Pipeline was hacked and shut down. Additionally, there is a shortage of certified tanker drivers in the country which could cause a delay in gas being transported. The city of Cape Coral is preparing for the worst and filling up its tankers to store emergency fuel. “It’s a big operation and fuel is at the...
