NORWICH, Conn. / CNN — A 1-month-old baby is dead after being attacked by a dog in Norwich, Connecticut on Monday night. Officers responded to a home around 8:30 p.m. after reports of a dog attack, police said. When rescue crews arrived, they found an infant that had been attacked by the family’s dog. LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — Rescue crews were able to put out a fire that overtook a car in Lehigh Acres on Tuesday morning. Firefighters with Lehigh Acres Fire Rescue arrived at the scene on 50th Street North and saw a car fully involved with fire quickly spreading to the surrounding grass. Quick work by Engine 102 helped prevent the fire from getting out of control. The fire melted the tires off the car, which looks to be a total loss. No injuries were reported.
